- When does insurance become effective?

If eligible, Insurance becomes effective the first of the month after a full month has been worked. For example – if someone starts on June 15th, their insurance starts August 1st.
- Will I receive a performance appraisal?

Managers and supervisors are asked to provide written evaluation of an employee's performance on an annual basis. Performance appraisals are usually requested at the mid and ending points of probationary periods.
- Is there a probationary period?

Yes. The probationary period for the majority of employees is 12 months. Consult your bargaining union contract for specific details.
